Eurochild conferentie: Children's Rights Matter: why Europe needs to invest in children

Eurochild, het Europese netwerk van kinderrechtenorganisaties organiseert elke twee jaar een conferentie een Brussel. Dit jaar zal er van 5-7 juli een conferentie plaatsvinden met als thema: Children’s Rights Matter: why Europe needs to invest in children. Hieronder kun je de aankondiging vinden in het Engels:

”Eurochild invites you to save the date for its conference Children’s Rights Matter: Why Europe needs to invest in children on 5-7 July 2016 in Brussels, Belgium. This conference aims to promote the understanding of children’s rights as a cornerstone to the development of equitable, healthy and prosperous societies.

Taking place in Brussels, and co-hosted by Eurochild members Kind en Gezin and Office de la Naissance et de l’Enfance, the 2.5 days conference provides a unique opportunity to connect European Union institutions with national realities, through the perspective of children and young people. The conference will take place at the prestigious Les Palais des Académies/Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium for Science and the Arts in Brussels. 

Who should attend?

It will bring together practitioners, researchers, civil society actors, policy and decision makers along with children and young people themselves to contribute to the realisation of children’s rights in Europe. 

What’s unique about this conference?

Children and young people will play a central role, not only as participants but as advisers, co-chairs, co-facilitators and speakers. Our commitment to children’s participation and experience in participatory practices through initiatives, such as CATS, a global annual meeting of children and adults in Switzerland, will enable us to offer each participant a real vision of how active engagement of children can contribute to better policy making, better services and ultimately a better future for everyone.”
