Eendaagse conferentie in Brussel over inclusive Social Protection

ingevoerd op 2-5-2012

One-day exchange seminar on May 7th in Brussels on Inclusive Social Protection and Decent Work in Developing Countries organised by Light For the World and DCDD.

This european seminar takes place under the End Exclusion — Let’s Enable The MDGs project, and it will address stakeholders at university and European level to stimulate a debate between development and social science researchers, lecturers, students and practitioners on how to promote social protection and decent work schemes that are inclusive of persons with disabilities while also aiming to promote debates among European politicians and policy-makers.

It will take place in the midst of a heightened attention toward social protection in the context of the post-MDGs agenda, and coincide with the drafting phase of the planned EU policy Communication on ’Social Protection in EU Development Cooperation’. We will also welcome representatives of the disability movement in Ethiopia as well as both government and civil society representatives from South Sudan.

The discussions will draw on the conclusions of the 2010 European Report on Development ’Social Protection for Inclusive Development’, the IDDC 2011 NGO seminar on Inclusive Social Protection in Developing Countries and the experience of academics and practitioners.

A more detailed programme will be available here soon: www.endexclusion.eu.

The event will start at 11AM at the Centre de conférence Espace Jacqmotte, 139 Rue Haute, 1000 Brussels.
