Post-graduate diploma course on ‘Children, Youth and Development’

ingevoerd op 12-7-2013

For the past 8 years, the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) in The Hague and International Child Development Initiatives (ICDI) in Leiden have jointly organized a 10-week post-graduate diploma course on ‘Children, Youth and Development.’ Since then, roughly 100 mid-career children and youth professionals from around the world have successfully graduated from the course.

The CYD course provides a strong grounding in key issues, concepts and debates in the field of children and youth studies, exploring critical areas of concern in policy and implementation in both the Global North and South. The course takes an interdisciplinary, rights-based approach and offers a unique blend of theoretical and practice-based knowledge. The CYD programme consists of in-class modules, field visits and an individual study. Evaluations by participants have been extremely positive throughout the years.

The next CYD course will run 9 April-20 June 2014. Scholarships may be available to participants through the Netherlands Fellowship Programmes. Please note that the deadline for applications for this fund is 23 September 2013. Alternatively, costs may be covered by other scholarships, individual students and/or by an employer.
