Goals of this congress
- Ask attention for family developments and family interests in public and political debates.
- Offer a platform for all people who want to support the interest of families: ranging from people facilitating family-specific help to organizations supporting families in general.
- Collect and distribute relevant knowledge concerning families.
- Strengthen the relationship between national and international organizations, forums and networks in order to support the interests of the family together, also in developing countries.
- Support and stimulate the contribution of families to the maintenance of the relations within and between generations.
What does World Congress of Families stand for?
The World Congress of Families is a worldwide coalition that stands up for the position of the family. The basis of the congress is article 16 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, saying: ’The family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to protection by society and the state.’
